1950 Rescue Glove UIG
IMPORTANT END USER INFORMATION TO BE REMOVED BY END USER ONLY
This nonbarrier multifunctional protective glove is designed and constructed in accordance with NFPA 1950, Standard on Personal Protective Equipment for Technical Rescue Incidents, Emergency Medical Operations, and Wildland and Urban Interface Firefighting, 2025 EDITION. This ensemble glove does not provide protection against hazardous liquids.
This glove is intended to be used as part of a system of protection that includes other protective equipment such as garments, helmets, footwear, and any other required PPE.
The glove is intended for use consistent with NFPA 1500, standard on fire department occupational safety and health program, and Title 29 Code of Federal Regulation 1910:132, “Personal Protective Equipment: General Requirements”.
All components of this glove have been certified to NFPA 1950, 2025 requiring approved testing methods. Most performance properties of the element cannot be tested by the user in the field.
The glove should be tested for fit prior to donning for an emergency response. The glove should fit loosely around the hand and fingers so as to not restrict movement. The elastic wrist cuff should keep the glove in position when gently pulled away from the wrist crease from the fingers. Ensure that the elastic element of the glove fits firmly against the wrist and is not impeded by garment sleeves. To doff the glove, gently pull each finger to remove friction, then pull the glove off the hand by the fingers.
Gloves should be stored in a cool, dry area and should never be stored if they are damp or wet. Dry completely before storing. Gloves should be frequently inspected for wear and any signs of damage should be immediately repaired using recognized components. If repair cannot be made to satisfaction, the gloves should be disposed of immediately. Gloves exceeding their safe service life should be destroyed. If additional identification information needs to be added to the glove label, you should use an indelible laundry pen.
After each service, the gloves should be thoroughly cleaned and decontaminated. Fill a basin with a warm water (105-110F) and detergent. Never use chlorine bleach. Soak the gloves until thoroughly wet, then scrub with a medium bristle brush. Protective gloves should be used while laundering. If the gloves become contaminated with hazardous materials or blood borne pathogens, you should first rinse your gloves at the scene with copious amounts of water to reduce the risk of contamination, then disinfect by using an EPA registered disinfectant. Gloves that are not thoroughly cleaned and dry should not be used for service.
